My name is John Chen and this is my new website & webstore!
Taiwanese born Australia raised, John has worked in the Visual Effects industry for the past 10 years as a CG artist & lighting artist for film and TV.
He has created CG creatures and monsters as well as epic environments in a collaborative team setting.
in 2015 John bought his first 3D printer and was hooked on turning his digital creations into physical reality, 5 years on he has several 3D printers which keeps him busy creating his own IP of collectibles & statues.
Early 2019 John decided to quit his day job to pursue a career as a full time sculptor, his first commission was to create large scale reliefs for a major theme park on the Gold Coast using digital tools.
Mid 2019 John dedicated his energy into learning traditional sculpting with clay mediums, an extremely fulfilling endeavor, this has opened many opportunities to explore his art goals.
I love to create forms that convey emotion and drama. There is no light without shadow & I love it under the shade.
