My name is John Chen and this is my new website & webstore!

Taiwanese born Australian raised, John has worked in the Visual Effects industry for the past 10 years as a CG artist & lighting artist for film and TV.

Just prior to the global pandemic John quit his day job to be a full-time artist, a blessing in disguise as this allowed him to wholly dive into his creations without distractions at home.

A sculptor and painter, John is prolific in his medium choices, while as a whole maintaining his esthetic in the emotional, dark and sometimes macabre subjects. His works reflect the deeper and sometimes unmanageable part of the human condition.

I love to create forms that convey emotion and drama. There is no light without shadow & I love it under the shade.
